Scout Active Support

Who are we?

We are a Group of adults with one aim in common and that is to support Scouting not only in Ilkeston District but anywhere that may require a little help.

What is our aim?

The aim is to “Provide Active Support” with the emphasis being very much on supporting the youth programme in an active manner, at all levels of the Association.

Active Support in the words of the Secretary

Active Support encompasses the talents of the former Scout Fellowship, whether it is physical, mental, geared to a particular skill or general support. We could help as badge examiner, a Training Adviser to new leaders, catering for events, running skill courses, we all have something to offer as far as supporting Scouting is concerned whatever our age or ability, between us we have years of experience.

Scout Active Support is a way for adults to volunteer some time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them. Scout Active Support is a resource for managers of local Scouting including Group Scout Leaders, District Commissioners and County Commissioner, to use in any way that might be required.

What can we offer?

We can run almost any activity you can dream up, from woggle making to camp fire cooking we have experience in all manner of activities.

We can also cater for your event or camp, allowing leaders time to run a full and varied program for the young people.

Join Us

Anyone over 18 can join our section and we also run events for Adults – sometimes it is nice to have fun without the responsibilities of working with youth members!

We meet on the Second Thursday of the month at Kirk Hallam Social Club
