Ilkeston District welcome new Station

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders gathered today amongst members of the public to welcome the first train into Ilkeston in 50 years. The train, which arrived at 9:30am, was the first to grace the tracks of Ilkeston’s new railway station. Members of the District were joined by new District Commissioner Paul Gant who said “Thanks to all who came this morning to the historic event of the first train to stop in Ilkeston for 50 years.”

The Station is now open for business and will connect Ilkeston with major cities across the UK such as Sheffield and Manchester.
